Annual Meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Physical Society (MAS 2018)
Registration and abstract submission websites are now open for the 2018 Annual Meeting of the APS Mid-Atlantic Section. The meeting will convene in the newly renovated Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center. The meeting will begin late afternoon November 9 with a special Nobel Laureate Plenary session with our very own John Mather and Bill Phillips. This plenary is open to the public so invite your non-scientist friends who are interested in physics for a night out at UMD. Please see the conference web page for more information and a list of invited speakers. Saturday will feature parallel sessions with invited and contributed talks, lab tours of Lathrop’s Na ball and the campus reactor, a panel discussion on STEM education as well as lunch, dinner and awards for the best student presentations. All of this is available for one low price. Please see the conference webpage for more information, including a list of invited speakers. We look forward to a good campus turnout.
