Quantum information for gravity and high energy physics
I will outline some general ideas about how quantum information science can inform traditional high energy and (quantum) gravitational physics. At a theoretical level, I will discuss ways in which information theoretic ideas have been used to learn about quantum field theory and gravity. On a more experimental note, there will be some discussion about techniques commonly used in information science--quantum optics, interferometry, opto/electromechanics, etc.-- and their potential use to study fundamental physics.
