Cavity quantum electrodynamics with single atoms is an ideal platform for the implementation of quantum-coherent networks. The talk will highlight recent experiments like long-distance quantum-state transfer, controlled atom-atom entanglement, atomic-state teleportation, nondestructive photon detection, atom-photon quantum gates and heralded memories.
