Integrated quantum spin systems
Magneto optically active quantum systems combine the best of two worlds: versatile photon interfaces and excellent coherent control of spins. When combined with other degrees of freedom like mechanical oscillators, plasmonic structures etc. they can become a cornerstone in hybrid quantum devices. The talk will describe our efforts towards integrating rare earth ions or diamond defect center spins into larger functional units by exploiting e.g. nano positioning to generate spin arrays or integrating quantum emitters with nano plasmonic structures. Possible applications in e.g. quantum enhanced sensing will be discussed.
