Applying for Faculty Positions

If you have any thoughts about pursuing an academic career, come to lunch to ask your questions - how does the process work?  What things are most important? What should a research statement contain?  Our expert on this topic will be Dr. Jordan Goodman of our Physics Department.  He was Physics Chair for 7 years, and has the complete insider knowledge on the faculty hiring process. As someone outside of JQI fields, he can also give an impression about how he judges candidates outside his area, as most everyone reviewing applications must do this.
