Probing the normal state in the BCS-BEC crossover
Superfluidity in a strongly interacting Fermi gas of atoms realizes a system that lies in a crossover region between Bose-Einstein condensation physics and the physics of BCS (Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer) superconductivity. Currently, there is some debate about the nature of the normal state in this system. I will present measurement using an atom analog of photoemission spectroscopy to probe the normal state of the strongly interacting Fermi gas.
